SEO Is Dead…Web 2.0 Is Google’s New Best Friend.

Traditional SEO companies have always promised the earth knowing full well that they could never guarantee 100% that the site they were comissioned to promote would rank on page one.

For long enough they have been getting away with it but as Google now change their algorythims every 19.5 hours and only the almighty “G” know their parameters there’s no way Page one rankings could ever be guaranteed.

Web 2.0 has been the buzz word for a while now which is quite funny because most people don’t understand what the phrase “web 2.0 really means”.

I’ve spoken to well known 6 figure per year marketers who have explained it to me completely incorrectly, in fact I’d go as far as to say they have attempted to baffle me with bullshit here.

Web 2.0 is the term used to describe “user driven content” sites.

Sites such as Twitter, Facebook, Hubpages, Squidoo, Wetpaint and hundreds more all rely on people like you and I for content.

Such content from these sites is usually regarded as “highly relevant” by Google and since Google’s ultimate goal is to provide the best possible service for their customers then sites with up to date highly relevant content duly receive a lot of love from the big G as far as rankings go and therfore fast rankings on page one usually follow.

Of course these web 2.0 “properties” do need to be linked and the structure set out properly plus there are a number of other tricks that need to be done in order for these rankings to stick over time.

Here’s a recent example of a small local company I’ve been working with for just two weeks: Type into Google “cheap glasgow bathrooms” and you will see a few properties on page one all pointing to one site. Notice that “cheap Glasgow bathrooms” is a “buying” keyword, so people typing in that keyword are “buyers”. Better 100 buyers per week than 1000 browsers.

The local company I’m working with is currently doing very well and here’s the kicker…The competing company have now been bullied into position 2 and they have been trading for over 100 years…

Does this method of owning page one of Google work? I’ll let You decide..

Compare this to traditional hit and miss SEO for just ONE website, I know what I’d prefer and it’s all white hat, Google loves it as explained earlier.

There are also a few properties on P2 just waiting to enter stage left on page 1 soon.

SEO guys will hate me but I’m sorry, time’s up guys.

Local search rocks…)

Till next time.

Yours in profits.

Peter.
