That’s correct. You can aquire an entire page of Google for local search terms for most small businesses and I’m talking long term page 1 here too.
It’s also handy to have a few listings on pages two and three for good measure.
What I am talking about here is nothing to do with traditional SEO (search engine optimisation) but the clever tactic of having multiple web 2.0 properties listed on page 1 linking to a customer’s website. This makes a lot of sense as it gives any prospective customer the impression that this business is an authority in it’s niche and therfore is worth doing business with.
As social media websites are loved by Google and get ranked highly it makes sense to do this if you know how.
Imagine having 7-8 of the top listings on Google for popular search “buying” keyphrases for your business? Pretty cool eh, imagine how much quality, targeted leads that will subsequently be sucked in to your sales funnel.
Of course the web 2.0 properties that are created need to be of a certain quality with original content, linked in a certain way and maintained regularly.
Properties such as Squidoo, Wetpaint, You Tube and Zimbio to name but a few are ranking very well on Google plus these sites rank very quickly, sometimes in minutes. traditional SEO cannot compete with this.
So if you want multiple page 1 rankings for your business or any other business website that stick, I suggest you take this phenomenon very seriously indeed.
Till next time.
Peter.
